The Harp Foundation, founded in May of 2000, evolved from Hospice of the Valley's Integrative Therapeutics Program. In order to expand the harp program into the West Valley and surrounding areas, The Harp Foundation was formed as a separate, non-profit organization providing harp music to individuals in need. The Harp Foundation's founding members are:

• Hospice of the Valley Interfaith Services
• Sun City 's Area Ministerial Association
• Sun Health Corporation

The Harp Foundation is uniquely positioned as the only collaborative organization between healthcare and spiritually-based organizations of its kind in the United States that provides therapeutic harp music.

The Harp Foundation has expanded its mission to serve developmentally and physically handicapped children, oncology patients, underserved populations, and other individuals with special needs.

In particular, the Foundation is serving children and infants who are critically ill and medically fragile through programs at St. Joseph 's Hospital in Phoenix and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in Gilbert, Arizona . We have also provided programs to The Foundation for Blind Children and Banner Health.

Since its inception, The Harp Foundation has provided over 10,000 hours of therapeutic harp music to individuals and their families in the Greater Phoenix area and throughout Maricopa County .

Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and partnering with additional organizations such as:

• Intl. Foundation for Anti-Cancer Drug Discovery
• Phoenix College Health Services
• WellCare Foundation

The Harp Foundation is committed to developing quality, therapeutic harp programs specifically designed to appropriately meet the needs of the children, families, and individuals they serve.

Included on the Board are individuals who are qualified in the areas of program design and development, administration, fundraising, marketing, and hospice care. The Board is well represented with clinical, artistic, medical, and business backgrounds.
